she was stitched to the opening
finger-like syllables in her hair
soothing, good girl, be quiet
the peach lids closed
shutting her eyes out from the world
I found her winter-bleached
almost mangled by the layers
sheets of cement thoughts
and memoir pages
her limbs were voiceless
field grass pulsing from pores
red leaves circling her thighs
eyes closed, snow lips moved,
kissed me dry
chocked me with Poe terror
I wept, little girl, little girl,
I didn’t know, we are unsafe
"I am hollowed out
Beneath my belly"
her child-hand found mine
she showed me the stain
desert, crimson-brown
swallowing the floor
oozing, never washing out
draping her soul
to keep the cold in
it came from beneath the murk
of Grendel's lair
forcing her apart, the roots first
with asp tongue and rat tail teeth
it drank the last of her
cloudless shine
its vulgarity blemishing
the cherry blood
her eyes opened as my own
she trickled in through my hands
budding around my insides
my cave mouth shaped mute
secret bats, zippered shut
hanging between my teeth
her breath riding through my lungs
I could feel every bird song of her
every distorted atom
compressed in the concave space
beneath my belly
finger-like syllables in her hair
soothing, good girl, be quiet
the peach lids closed
shutting her eyes out from the world
I found her winter-bleached
almost mangled by the layers
sheets of cement thoughts
and memoir pages
her limbs were voiceless
field grass pulsing from pores

This was S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G
I loved how you went from the places we see, the places we don't and the places we see when someone is mutilated
It was entrancing, the words were so bittersweet, I could feel my eyes popping out ofmy head as I read them, they just were stunning
The themes you started you carried on, which I liked. So many people put in themes to shock and have that moment of brillinance and then it's gone. You made it a POEM
Not just phrases bunched together
Well done my love
All my love and huggles

'she was stitched to the opening
finger-like syllables in her hair'
i like the word stich/stiched/stiching these days, it just has something about it. i really like the title of this, it just makes the piece seem so fascinating.
'I wept, little girl, little girl,
I didn’t know, we are unsafe'
i liked this line. but shouldn't it be we were unsafe? or maybe changing the tense wouldn't help, but that sentance reads wrong to me (just the second line).
i loved this it was very vivid and i loved the images.
