I never knew that it would happen like this,
That love was just a simple challenge that you just conquered.
Like a little game that you discovered,
Left by the way side.
It started so fast,
I hardly knew that I could ever feel this love.
To be so close and to lose it all again.
Reality takes hold as I see your fading smile as I pass you down the aisle
Of that long, winding hallway.
Then as I lay awake at night,
Trying to forget all the memories that we shared.
It's like a merry-go-round that never ends.
Love is just a game for fools,
That can never be won.
Yet, somehow it strikes me
That it could ever be found.
