A Garden Of One

Dancing upon roses
of daydreams,
tendril waves curled
around placed petals;
tending sensibility
to blossom

but yesterday’s

whispered enchantment
set quickly
in the shade of sun,
revealing true colors of pretense;
embedding memories to soul’s
earthly promises

tempest winds arose,
scattering leaves
to flutter aimlessly

whilst each raindrops pierced
its sorrow to pool,
as roots withered
in absence of blooms

with every twilight
beckoning to senses

disappointment grew

into a garden

from a single

purple rose~

Author notes

PIF
Purple roses primarily stand for enchantment. The giver of the purple rose seeks to convey that he or she has fallen in love with the recipient at the very first sight. A deep magnetism and charm that makes the recipient almost irresistible is what the purple rose seeks to convey. The very first meeting has totally enticed the sender of these flowers, who simply cannot resist the object of his desire.

If I were God I would wear purple,
passion's fire in hope's sweet flower,
hour to grow a new dominion
where we might touch and still be perfect...

    so beautiful

I am sure that Rich will adore this as I did....not only the way it was written , but also finding out the meaning of a purple rose. Hmmmmmmmm....at times hubby helps out a friend at a flowershop with deliveries [especially on special occasion days] such as today...it is secretaries' day,,,,so there will be late deliveries. Many times he will bring home the leftover flowers of that day, and purple roses are quite often amongst them, but lol.......after all these years I am sure it is not my "irresistability" that crosses his mind
Thx also for incluuding that link...I will check it out and learn some more. All the vest in this contest,
    much love

Even the palest of roses, just as the palest of our own lives, has within it the power to transcend sadness and loneliness into a thing of beauty. That's what your creation has done within this lovely poem. It's quite a beautiful piece
I wish you the best in the contest

well that is most interesting, but i still find the yello roses, gift to your love.will open the door to her heart, not withstanding the purple rose powers. lol. you have made it pleasant and left feelings of affection here, so that in that garden, its ok to have a single rose, that is purple. thank you for sharing that story. never heard it before. succes to you in this contest.
