The sky goes black, “No turning back,”
The voices say to me.
I feel compelled; the waves, they swell,
In a tortured tempest sea.
My path is laid, decisions made,
Or so they’d like me to believe.
I would welcome change, if any came,
And the Savior’s help I would receive.
How long to walk, these shattered rocks?
My feet are cut and bleeding.
To put my life in Jesus Christ,
Is to find the comfort I’ve been needing.
The sky turns blue, I’ve made it through;
The stormy sea is calm.
In God’s will, I’ll make it still,
On this road I travel on.
Author notes
This one, to me, speaks of how we think we have no choices. We believe that just because we started down a path, we have to continue to follow it; this is not true! There is always a choice!

Bravo! A great piece on the way choices effect our life. Even if we make a bad one we can change to the right path anytime. Life is about choices both good and bad.

Thank you for your entry. It is lovely work. I like the ideas about lightness and darkness as well as the travelling metaphors used.
Good Luck -
Wow! That your best poem beside the 3rd one you put on allpoetry. I wouldn't have understood what you were talking about, if you didn't leave a note! Great job!
