desolate island--
dying trees
reach up to heaven

thank you so much for your comment, phantomsangel..I sure appreciate your taking the time to read and comment. I love haiku and am really inspired living here in the keys with the beautiful pallet of nature around me.

I've always thought that trees and flowers appear to be reaching for heaven, too. The fact that the trees are dying puts a new spin on that idea. This image reminded me of how people tend to get more religious or spiritual as they get older (because they're cramming for their final exam. lol) I'm not usually a big fan of haiku (being a long-winded S.O.B. ) but there's no denying the power of this image.

Oh, that's cool! I'm not very familiar with haikus, but I liked this one!
