Jewel Of The Snows (Mount.Kailash.....)

Missing image

As the white milky clouds glide slow
Unveling with grace, the Supreme -
The foremost of peaks, clad in snow..

Rooted deep from the seventh hell
Reaching to the highest Heaven,
It is here, the theories dwell..

Where mankind took his early birth
A still point of the turning world,
Ultimate, ‘navel of the earth’.

There's the golden time, for a try  ~
As the clouds fade, amidst the mist,
It dazzles.. the peak touching the sky..

Then, the whole world seems to stand still,
The trees, breeze and the far off seas,
Our feelings frozen in the chill.

Jeweled face of the walls stand bold,
Rubies westward, Crystal on east
Sapphires deck south, north with Gold.

Four rivers flow from corners four
Merging with seas with gemstone shades,
Perfect symmetry holds the core!

The abode of The Lord is here
Grandeur felt in every breath,
This is the center, front, rear..

And as you walk around and round
Om Namah Shivaya, echoes low ~
rustling the ethereal sound.

Here, the wish fulfilling tree stands,
Aromatic flowers and herbs,
All adorn this Elysian land.

Some say they have seen, yet unclear
A glimpse of God in the clouds near..
Some still say, they've heard, while passing by
Sounds of bells, cymbals, from the high..
Wait.. till the milky clouds glide slow
To glimpse the supreme clad in snow.

Author notes

*Om Namah Shivaya ~ I prostrate to Lord Shiva

According to the Hindu theory(as said in Vishu Puran), Mount Kailash is the center of the world, its four faces are made of crystal, ruby, gold, and lapis lazuli. It is the pillar of the world; is 84,000 leagues high; is the center of the world mandala; and is located at the heart of six mountain ranges symbolizing a lotus. The four rivers flowing from Kailash then flow to the four quarters of the world and divide the world into four regions.

As per the Tibetan logy(Kangri Karchhak), maintains that Kailash is in the centre of the whole universe, towering right up into the sky; on its side is situated Kalpa Vriksha, that fulfils wishes; it has square sides of gold and jewels: its eastern face of crystal, the southern of sapphire, the western of ruby and the northern of gold; its peak is wrapped in aromatic flowers and herbs. There are four footprints of the Buddha on the four sides: these footprints stopped the local deities to take the peak to the sky, the seventh heaven, and four chains prevented the denizens of the lower regions from taking it down to the seventh hell.

Mt.Kailash also known as the Mt.Meru, is called the ‘World Pillar’ and often referred to as the Center Of The World.

The Jains, who refer to Kailash as Mount Ashtapāda, believe the founder of their faith, Rishabhadeva attained Moksha or Nirvana (spiritual liberation) at this place.
The myths descend down from Mount Kailash to the shores of Lake Mansarovar.

“There are no mountains like the Himalayas, for in them are Kailash and Mansarovar”.

you did an amazing job in creating a verse that offers several layers of exploration : for one who enjoys the outer aspect, vivid visuals describe the enchanting landscape in the tangible realm ... for one who seeks for historical information, you offer details about mount kailash's mythology ... for those who wish to dive deeper, mysterious happenings wrapped in sound and scent, are revealed ... the forth level, including the others, yet transcending them at the same time, guides directly to the sacred essence of mount kailash ... no sense can perceive it, no thought can grasp it, yet, the eye of wisdom sees it clearly ...

you have offered me a precious gem here, I thank you from my heart ...

    om namah shivaya
