A shoulder to cry on, I sometimes think
Makes the pain a little better, it should
Take the sting from the wound, stop
The bleed, and he planted the seed,
Tilled the fields, then left you free, and
It's mine that you shed your tears on,and
Inside, the uncharitable side replies, cruelly,
Insidiously true, when the truth ain't great,
She knew, even before the lonely nights,
When she refused the given sights, numbers
In a cellular phone, lipstick stains, when
The lipstick is a darker shade of grey,
Black, these signs of sin, she knew, he
Replied as her mascara left trails down
Her flawless skin, a doll in pain, uncharitable
Thoughts crowding me in, her shoulder
To cry on, until another Romeo sings her
A song, a relief from pain, another lie, another
Promise of future rain, and I, with open
Arms, her shoulder to cry on.

Your words tore me apart. I'm sorry about this person who is close to you having to go through something like that. Some people just do so much wrong and cause so much pain. Maybe if people would be more caring and honest, then we wouldn't have to shed so many tears. But it's special that you're her shoulder to cry on. Everyone needs a shoulder sometime in their life, whether they admit to it or not and I respect you for being there for this person. Your ability to capture a situation in another person's eyes is outstanding. I felt like I was you in this piece because of the way you worded it. I was the shoulder to cry on. I've actually been that for one of my best friends, and I hate to see her hurting. Anyway, this is a very beautiful entry, and my sincerest apologies to your friend and whatever may have happened. Thank you for entering and good luck.
