Let us ride on powerful steeds!
Unbridled and free through prairies thunder;
Silently glide past endless skies,
With rivers collide
Their surging currents break
To re-emerge so proud and slow and silky wet.
Our spirits spurred, speeding,
So furiously chasing naught but the wind.
Unflinching, we tear through the air
And clinch life from death
By a hair's breadth!
Then breathless we fall on our backs,
Side by side,
Sweaty and panting,
And laugh, and laugh,
And laugh, and laugh -
Our steaming mounts
Gleaming, golden in the sunset,
Respectful, obliging.
Then suddenly silent
To turn our faces
And stare into each other’s eyes,
Surprised, delighted,
So thrilled to be so alive and so un-repenting;
To place my heart within your hands
And take your hands in mine
And find therein a world of wonders beyond words.
Knowing who we are so fully -
So completely forgetting
Who we are,
And under a fathomless, infinite canopy of stars
Be wed -
Locked in an embrace
That can never be undone.
And there upon an earth-made bed to say:
"You are the one."
"You are the one."
