Blind to Me

A soul piercing glare which brings men to their knees.
A black heart which sucks joy from the life of the young.
A deaf ear, that refuses to listen to their pleas.
A silver tongue which tricks everyone ‘neath the sun.

Tell me how immodest I look
and yell about my language being foul.
Make me see I selfishly took
the esteem of the weak with a dark scowl

and this is what I will reply to you.

A soul piercing glare which brings men to their knees.
A black heart which sucks joy from the life of the young.
A deaf ear, that refuses to listen to their pleas.
A silver tongue which tricks everyone ‘neath the sun.

Explain to me.  I am too nice
that I help all those who do not deserve.
Ramble it will not happen twice.
Order me to keep my help on reserve

and this is what I will reply to you.

A soul piercing glare which brings men to their knees.
A black heart which sucks joy from the life of the young.
A deaf ear, that refuses to listen to their pleas.
A silver tongue which tricks everyone ‘neath the sun.

Tell me that I don’t understand
that I never could know the evil world.
Say I am much safer on land
where my innocence won’t be unfurled

and this is the reply I give to you

A soul piercing glare which brings men to their knees.
A black heart which sucks joy from the life of the young.
A deaf ear, that refuses to listen to their pleas.
A silver tongue which tricks everyone ‘neath the sun.
A dead soul you failed to see among all of these.
A life of innocence lost.  A mere shadow undone.

Man, this is great! I love the repetitive parts and how well this flows. It's a little on the dark side but that is what makes it work. Great job, my friend. Shancy.

Definently reminded me of myself. I have been in such a horrible mood lately. Everyone is out of their binds and blind to the truth or else - and worse - they just ignore it.

If we truly are what they say, I say... so be it. I would rather be myself than be anything like them.

Not your most cleverly crafted, but I imagine this wasn't written in the most perfect of writing moods.
