Boiling Tea Pot

Don't touch the lid
It's burning hot
The slightest touch
Could make everything in you
Fall apart

The hearts of many
Young, fair girls
Are locked inside
The rolling, ever churning waters
Of that
Boiling tea pot

Not alone
Yet always so
Because it never stops scorching
Or turning over
Not ever
Does the water slow

A brew of tears
Of broken dreams
Now bubbles to perfection
Atop an open stove
They spill
Soft souls lightly in here

Stay away
And let it cook
The life
Of every teenage girl
Steaming, crying, screaming through
The chambers
Of this boiling tea pot. 

Author notes

Inspired by the title. I also wrote this thinking of how hard the life of a teenage girl is and all the things they have in common. The hard ride through life is shared by all. Hope you like!
