Thirst In Soul

As I wander through my wonders
with a soul that has a thirst
my heartache beats so trustingly
feels like it's 'bout to burst

I cry out to the heavens "Oh Lord,
will you not listen to my plea's"
A winkling whispers an answer,
as I fall down to my knees

"The nourishment you thirst for,
now how can I explain
it's not for food or water,
it's for Love that will sustain"

As I stare up toward the stars
my soul starts to rejoice
In jus' a twinkling of a moment
I meet the bearer of that voice

I reach out to greet my mentor
and begin to praise his prose
he then sweetly turns around
and proffers me a rose

Saying "receive this gift for sharing
and showing that you care
for in these halls we are all equal
and it's my pleasure you are here"

As my soul began to soar
from his impassioned holy words
my spirit spiraled on an air stream
like a flock of southbound birds

Now my soul no longer thirsts
for earthly things, I can not care
It thirsts again and weaves with pen
to bless the ones who made it clear

"I thank you, Ron"

Funny I saw burning ambition and reach in this one... must be my Eastern mentality. Eitherway, I very much liked the flow of this piece and the ups and downs it took me through. True friends are invaluable... thank you for this... yes, very "hope"-filled write... <3 Alex

What a fantastic tribute to someone. I am sure that he is truly honored to read words describing your feelings. I can tell they come straight from your heart and soul. I wish you the best in the contest...but I think you have already won by having such an amazing friend.
