What I Would Do Without You

Thank you for all you do,
You’re always there for me,
When I’m sad, you cheer me up,
When I’m mad, you make me laugh.

Every day, I look forward to seeing you smile,
Everyday, I love to hear you laugh.
I look at you and my heart speeds up,
And I try to smile back.

You have every trait that I look for:
Intelligence, a sense of humor, and a winning smile.
I can’t believe that I was so lucky,
That you have chosen me.

Out of all the girls in our grade,
You chose me.
Why, I ask,
I’m nothing special.

Perhaps I’ll ask you one day,
If I don’t forget.
But every time I look up,
I get lost in your eyes.

I love to see you having fun,
With all your best friends.
I cry when I see you get hurt,
Although you tell me you’re okay.

I get jealous when another is with you,
Talking and making you laugh.
Although you tell me I shouldn’t worry,
I worry anyhow.

I just love hanging out with you,
For every minute of the day.
I get sad when we’re apart,
‘Cause I can’t see, talk, or hear you.

I’m always afraid something will happen,
That will tear you away from me.
I tell you my fears,
And you pull me into a hug.


‘Don’t worry about me,’ you whisper,
As you try to comfort me.
I smile, knowing that you always cheer me up,
I know I shouldn’t worry, and enjoy the time we have.

But I can’t help but worry,
About the present and the future.
What will happen?
Surely this cannot last.

Enjoy the moment right now,
That is all I have to do.
Worry about the future,
When the time will come.

Live in the moment,
Enjoy life as it is.
Although happy things cannot last,
It is nice to live through them.
