The forest swallows me whole.
Inhale, exhale
Oxygen molecules morph into carbon dioxide,
Now atoms of time and space.
The shadows devour the soil,
Erasing the earth with sinister smiles
But still the running...
The grooves in the bark-
A message, a clue alluding to a final destination,
Suggesting the unknown.
The sickening weight in the pit of my stomach,
The silent voices forever calling me,
Tugging at my thoughts as a nagging child.
Searching endlessly for answers I’ll never find-
Suddenly, a glimmer of hope.
Almost there, so close I can taste it, smell it, hear it....
My eyes open;
The feeling of a forgotten question lingers, but only for a moment.

this reminds me a bit of this book I once read
where the forest was all consuming when evil began to penetrate it. Can't really remember the title though sadly haha. It's a very dark scene you create here and then...bam! a little teaser at the end there haha. Wonderful as always ^_^
