Why must I carry such a heavy burden?
It's like the whole world is depending on me.
Well, my world is at least.
I just have to keep this secret.
No-one else knows, hardly anyone even cares about me.
But she cares, a lot.
But I can't give up on her yet.
She's amazing, really.
But absolutely nobody must know about her.
Her life depends on it.
Her name is Emily.
She can fly, with real wings.
But I must keep her a secret.
Who knows what would happen to her if someone else knew.
I can't even tell my best friend this secret.

Answer (Hopefully): Secrets
Because once you have a secret, you want to share it. But a secret is only a secret when no-one else knows about it. So, once you share it, you no longer have a secret!

I don't know how to edit poems, I still a beginner on this website. I think the answer to the riddle is 'secrets'.
Riddle: Once you have it, you want to share it,
once you share it, you don't have it!
Because once you have a secret, you want to share it. But a secret is only a secret when no-one else knows about it. So, once you share it, you no longer have a secret!
(I hope I am right. I'm usually terrible at riddles...) -
