Iceberg

Each more iceberg than island
we float submerged so deep
as to remain unknowing of ourselves:
a mass piloted by lurking forces.

No wonder then
we hole ourselves and others.
Yet the spirit flames within the berg,
ice flares to flesh,
body becomes mind
in shafted clarity
before the shining slips again
into the deep.

Nice metaphorical poem. Clearly well thought through. I have enjoyed reading this, all the best in the contest.

Stunning work here. The fact is it is so true too. Great imagery that this produces. I like the metaphor of the iceberg as an island. Keep writing.

    WONDERFUL

I believe everyone feels this emptiness and overwhelming sinking feeling. Now and then there is a ray of light, of hope and then the darkness comes again.
