My breath catches
deep within my soul
and the passion in your eyes
becomes my heartbeat.
As my bones liquefy
hands sear my craving flesh
and I am a wild river of flames
you have ignited.
The angels play
hymns of blessed music
as you pluck each string
consummately.
I willingly surrender
to your vibrating harp.
Author notes
C:
“When I look on you a moment, then I can speak no more, but my tongue falls silent, and at once a delicate flame courses beneath my skin, and with my eyes I see nothing, and my ears hum, and a wet sweat bathes me, and a trembling seizes me all over”- Sappho
