The chains rattle
Against the frozen pole
The wind carries on the cry
Of a tormented soul
Visions of war and destruction
Appear in your head
Visions of a friend
On the floor, dead
You see the faces
Of the weeping mothers
The saddened expressions
Of sisters and brothers
In the casket
Her body lay
As her one true love
Cries in dismay
He placed a ring
Upon her hand
As time slowed
To one grain of sand
The it hits you;
You caused her death
You were the one
Who took her last breath
After the realization
The pain is unbearable
You pick up a gun
To do something terrible
You pull the trigger
Pull it twice
Your body hits the floor
As you end your life
Author notes
You may have noticed that is very much unlike my style. This poem came to me in a very strange way. I found it while at work, and was a little surprised to find something like this just laying on the ground. This isn't my poem, but maybe the one that wrote it will find it?
Please tell me what you think
