The Information Age

Passively observing off the screens
Mentally distorting
Silent and unseen
Perpetually transferring
Organically perturbing

The Information Age is coming forth in waves
Affluent with trivia but nothing much has changed
Corporations get your money
The sun, the moon, a day
and we buy what they're selling
yet none of us here are saved

Cerebral advertisements all around
Appealing to the senses
our values winding down
Submerged in irrelevance
Soaking from all sides
The wires veins of arrogance protruding from our hides
networks upon networks
webs wrapped around limbs
And we are at the center where it's all falling in

The Information Age is strong and self sustained
Exponentially growing and still has not been swayed
So hold on to your family
Hold on to what is sane
Because none of us here are safe from the information age

Overexposed
in constant repose
stupefied by stimuli
stratified into the sky
forgetting every reason why
become wise and realize
we're being propagandized
Telescreens desensitize
They tell us 2 + 2 is 5
hypnotize and mesmerize
hallucinatory images beamed straight into the minds eye
The flicker rate will promulgate
Your catatonic dream state

Turn off your TV
Turn on your mind
Turn off your TV
open your heart

Pretty much the truth. When people stop flipping through the channels and wake up from their stupor then maybe we'll see some progress.

When you were typing it up you made a few typos, "hyde", and on the second to last line "of" instead of "off". Little stuff.

It also seems that in a few sentences there should be a break or a comma, something to denote a pause? "Appealing to the senses our values winding down"

Superb work, and I do appreciate the spider man background.

I sort of did as well but turns out it's just Robert Louis Stevenson's fault, not ours.
