Passage through the Plane of Moors

….retrieving Helios’ chariot
From Phaeton’s harsh excursion
into irrecoverable Knowledge,
The Poetress Princess
Clasps her unarmored Knight.
Clutching her waist,
Pulling his Princess firmly to him
He whips the reins upon the flame steeds…
and Princess moves closer.
Squeezing their wills of choice.

Chargers snort their scorching vapors
And lurch from the leafy canopy…

The Princess and the Knight
Launch into the night,
Fearsome acceleration out of … and away
from the forest shadows,
Crossing the Plane of Moors,
Into their sanctuary-absorption…

Creating their luminosity...

thank you HonorablyFallen/SarahLynn for stopping by. Please peruse the catalog. I welcome any comments.

I can point you to some that fit your preferences if you let me know what those are. The only other one I have with classical mythology references is: http://allpoetry.com/poem/4126557

I do like words, and frankly get carried away with obscure terms. Mostly I do try to identify them in the author notes, but readers do complain sometimes that the density takes too much work. My apologies in advance if any hit you that way.

Every piece here has a story behind it, but sometimes takes some digging. So I am not sure that is always fair to the reader.

      Thank you again.

    Fiery display of mythical interplay!
I find the construction brilliant as it
only gives tiny glimpses of the astral
setting. The verse speaks to me of a comet
    or other fast-moving celestial body...
    but then "sanctuary-absorption" says they
are consumed; lost to a glorious implosion...
just as they were meant to be. Blue

You are impressively intuitive since I was as usual a little oblique. yes, exactly the impression I was seeking ... were that it were true...

I enjoy the myths, and the notion of myths, but am not a student of the Greek or Roman views, just a glimpse gotten long ago in school. But they are a trove of referential images, and encultured metaphors.

the role of myths then, later and now still facinate me, and you know we have many that we take as seriously as they did, and futures will find us quaint
