crazy and sublime

i know we all feel this way
about our lovers

at the time there is no other
time stands still its such a thrill

its like ecstasy combined with pain
we fear it will never last yet we hang on

we bring all of our stuff from our past
no matter how good it feels

no matter its like we want the pain
we look for the same problems
over and over again

why i ask does love feel right
as we reach for the past

old hurts of sorts
feel like comfort

why i ask

can we not find peace with love

why does it wring us out

it

keep us awake at night
reaching deep within ourselves

why do we search for this kind of love

i ask you to give me an answer

write me back in poetry, song or rhyme
i want to know why this kind of love
is always crazy and sublime........

Our mind creates a story. It makes the story more important than the experience.

It is easy to love when you can without expectation. It is easy to give when you do it only for the blessing implied.

Relationships are entirely another paradigmn. We create expectations that we don't even know we have created and it is here that our story about how it is supposed to be gets in the way of how it is. Then we have to ask ourselves which we are willing to have. Often giving up our story is an act of bravery and vulnerabilty that is a greater request than we can comply with.

For a deeper look at this, read my piece Marriage Letter. If any of this helps, please help yourself. I am blessed if you gain.

        Love, Tom B.

    Superb

A very nice write indeed. Brings to mind the old Barbara Streisand/Robert Redford movie: "The Way We Were". Sorry, I would provide you with a specific URL, in case you'ld never seen it; however for some wierd reason I'm having problems with accessing information others might like to have.
