Walking through the mist
memories flowing
centuries before
I lived in a place
where enchantment reigned.
Snowy cold surrounded
the pathway distinct
knowing warmth waited
atop the mountain
within the magical castle
of our deepest dreams.
Slowly darkness entered
infecting our hearts
ravishing our souls
a woman possessed
powers from beyond
determined to ruin
all light among us.
The castle smoldered
evil flames burning
attempts to banish
dark powers polluting
leading to many deaths.
My memories still live
atop the mountain
in our cherished home
the Castle of Lost Dreams.

Wow, this one was especially well-written if you ask me!! I liked the subtle 'fairytale' feel mixed with a little 'old-time' feel, as well. It set for a really nice atmosphere within the poem. Great accompaniment for the picture displayed and vice versa! My favorite part would have to be this...it was so vivid:
The castle smoldered
evil flames burning
attempts to banish
dark powers polluting
leading to many deaths.
Great writing!!
