From tiny bodies yet growing
To tears and laughter unabated
The wonders of life stood before us
We held hands until sleep left us sated.
From Disney Land to Rocky Point
You always loved the Merry-go-Round
And bikes, tennis, and travel
To beaches with shells to be found.
From romantic movies and novels
To Fleetwood Mac’s rhythm and rhyme
We shared more than we realize, Robin,
Though we didn’t hit it off every time.
We smoked cigarettes out by the shed
Used Vaseline to make our eyes shine
Braved donuts on a lake thought frozen,
And were rescued by angels that time.
From graduations, marriages and careers
To babies that made us complete
Onward through trials and tribulations
And the times when our minds did not meet.
Perhaps you thought I didn’t care
Perhaps I thought you didn’t know
Everything happens for a reason
Even death can’t reap what we sow.
Horizons stretch forth before us
And no matter what happens today
You have me for all our tomorrows
You have me every step of the way.
Born of the same blood made us sisters
Bonded by flesh and by bone
We knew that we knew one another
And now all of that knowing is known.
I love the way you laugh out loud
I love how your heart can shed tears
I love how you’ve moved with grace
Through bindings of life’s earthly years
I love how you exude loyalty
I love how you do what you do
I even love all your imperfections
Because, Robin, I simply . . . love you.

Thank you for the read. I'm glad this write helped you realize how much you and your sister cherish each other. Don't ever lose that. It's easy to lose sight of one another and second chances don't always come.
My sister and I were blessed in that we got our second chance.
Love and cherish your sister and you'll always have someone on your side just like she'll always have you on her side. Be blessed!
