The Color of Mist

Put this air around this town
so I can float without feeling down.
Paint the sky the same as the sea.
The color of mist is the color I want to be.

Wheels don't seam to fly when they turn.
High speed I need to feel the burn.
Let the dust be what I see.
The color of mist is the color I want to be.

Make this cup a cheerful glass.
Give this glass to friends who pass.
Side by side they'll dance with me.
The color of mist is the color I want to be.

I've always held my breathe before.
Kept it down below the floor.
It's got to come out, time to be free.
The color of mist is the color I want to be.

All is heavy and far from light.
A change of direction might make it bright.
Forget about the chill, I can't resist.
To go outside and disappear in the mist.

this is a really great poem, although it doesn't quite seem strong enough for a song yet. give it some consistency with a chorus. that will make it stronger, i think.
thank you for entering and all the best in the contest.

    Interesting

Very deep and airy at the same time..."so I can float without feeling down" I can relate to this. "high speed I need to feel the burn" another relate..."I've always held my breathe before" are you walking in my head??? lol "A change of direction might make it bright" I believe I will join you in the mist...you have given me alot to think about in this piece and I thoroughly enjoyed the read! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will be back. Gypsie
