Slate is cleaned
dawn's face peeps through
God's signal for another chance
to put all things to rights.
Pristine carpet cloaks the land
burying yesterday's blues
as the horizon speaks of new hope
to melt past transgressions away.
And with the thaw will come
new beginnings blessed from above
as refreshing life begins to bloom
putting sweet spring in languid steps.
From here the past and present part
fresh opportunities unhindered
let's not waste another moment
don't fear, we'll overcome.
