Blessings to find
Reflect
On life’s love
More from above
Grasp
Each present day
To find the way
Accept
Only the acceptable
Search for the remarkable
Hold
On to the memories
Safeguard the legacies
Reach
Toward the light
With all of life’s fight

i like this one, short ant to the point. good advice for anyone. except when the unpleasant memories outweigh the pleasant. it's hard sometimes to get those out of the way and to let the good ones rule the day. i must re-double my efforts here!
-
-
Right, it's a turn-out-the-lights policy for the unpleasant,
locking them out, sealing them in the dark. No peeking!
Nice to see you sharing thoughts on my site!!!

ah yes, but a conundrum. i surely wouldn't want to be like that baby-killer and family that's in the news. (sorry to bring THAT up...)
instantaneous gratification takes too long, little Polyanna, injured instinct and all that--
but to be aware of what you turn the lights out on i suppose is the trick.
and what if there's a short circuit in the wire and the damn things flicker? well then what??
(fix the short circuit of course...)
ok then, lights out on the unpleasant

Reaching across the wet paint to reach the keys----
This piece was originally conceived when FransB
from South Aftica was requesting poetic words
he could assemble and pass on to his mentor,
who was holdidng on to life, with little hope
for a cure for his disease.
But the words seemed to take hold,
to be interpreted by others
as toughening up, accepting only
that which one wants to accept.
Short circuit---like the flickering
lights in yur avatar. Hmmmmm, fix the flicker,
or enjoy the low lights! Guess it's about
making do with what we have in hand!

Accept
Only the acceptable
Search for the remarkable
I love the whole context of the poem
very sound advice
but this was my favourite part
I believe because for most of my life
I was too shy to speak up
and stand my ground
therefore
I must accept responsibility
for the things that happened to me
thank God
we mature as we gain more experience
that is a nice way of saying
as we get older

Hah! And I have SO MUCH experience.
If we could but "return to sender"
all the past unacceptables! -
-
WOULDN'T THAT BE LOVERLY!
LOVERLY
OH WOULDN'T THAT BE LOVERLY
from an old movie
I can think of at least a dozen things
I would love to return to sender

Strong piece
This flows beautifully and reflects a consistent attitdue, a clear and positive voice.

Thank you for observing that, Thomas Scott!
Originally intended for another Poet to send to his
mentor who was clinging to life, when finished
the piece did appear to have meaning
for various points in life.

very good advice to a person with a blocked path especially...practical and spiritual blending here ..very interesting..enjoyed it

Thank you, Nilav.
FransB had requested from his friends
words he could send to his mentor
who was clinging to life.
After the words ran down the page
they seemed to resonate in a way
that many might apply when seeking
a path forward, particularly
if one had already travelled
a long path.
So nice of you to visit here.

The light in this case meaning a couple things, "A Higher power" of course but also that striving for a deeper, more rewarding meaning in our own lives.

FransB, a very good writer you may want
to check out was looking for an assortment
of work he could send to his friend.
Thank you, summer.

Very insightful.

-
Thank you, Lee.
Frans was looking for words from poets here
to send to his friend as inspiration
as the friend has time limit
set on his days on earth.
