She Cries

Within the deepest depth of her being
she feels the loss of love's fresh bloom,
watching the rain fall outside the window
she thinks about the times that she loved
him in this very room, the memories drift
through her mind as she watches the boy
outside splashing in the puddles.

Laying her head against the window pane
tracing the petals of the flower that is
painted on the pane of glass, whispers she
that she had failed him in her need to love,
go home she has done to sit in the very
room where they once made love, she could
never be mad at him, not the one she adored.

She turns to the bed and lays upon it, looking
at the ceiling thinking how old habits will
die hard as she waits to hear his footsteps
in the hallway, knowing that they will never
be there again for he was with her, alone,
frozen, silent she lay there in the bed,
scared that she would be forever alone.

She turns on her side the tears finally coming
from her eyes to flood the pillow beneath her
head making it soggy and wet like the pain she
feels within herself, the emotions seething and
twirling within her very being, the blackest of
night in her very soul where she ripped out the
heart of herself.

She sits up in the bed and goes to the drawer
where she takes out the picture of her love
laying it on the dresser, she looks at it and
wonders what is there going to be is there
going to be more pain and hurt, tears and
dispair, her mind running in circles, one
minute angry the next crying, wishing she was dying.
