The Real World

People dieing, children crying,
countries laced with fear.
For the world has turned their heads,
no one wants to hear.

The truth is hidden,
though the mask is thin.
If we cared we would see
the truth that dwells within.

But closing our eyes
as the real world spins
often is better;
why loose if you can win?

As we play our games,
people starve and die.
Celebrate after,
while those in need ask "why?"

Some say it is over,
others its just begun.
I guess we will find out
when our lives are done.

There's a lot going on that no one seems to care/know about, or if they do they don't come out and say it. People are starving, living without water, have life threatening diseases and not many choose to help. I guess we'll see if what we did was enough when the day comes.
