It can’t be right
That every little thing I see
I have to bite
Books in the bookcase
Carpets on the stairs
I even have a go at
The legs of the chairs
When anybody calls me
I run away and hide
And when they want me indoors
I just end up outside
I like to chase cats
But when I catch them up
I don’t know what to do
Cause I’m just a little pup
Sometimes I have an accident
I know I’ve had a few
When I miss the paper
When doing my wee or poo
I don’t do it on purpose
And I know it makes you mad
Sometimes I hit the target
One out of three’s not bad
When you take me to the park
I do my best to find
All the muddy puddles
The rain has left behind
And when you’ve used the towel
To wipe me nice and dry
I sit back in the puddle
And wonder why you cry
I like to pick up screws and nails
And just won’t spit them out
When all else fails
I know the vets are open
Late at night
So if you decide to buy a pup
This much I know is true
We pups put up with a lot
From the likes of folks like you

It made me laugh and smile. i love dogs too, they can be a nuisance though
Just one thing, the prompt is where you're meant to write to a dog, not about one
-
This is cute and adorable. Good luck, and thank you so very much for entering my contest!

Aw, this is great! A real winner, and I can see why it won so many trophies! Absolutely adorable and funny. Good luck in your latest contest! I love dogs, and this so captures the whimsical (and annoying, you'd-kill-them-if-the-weren't-so-cute) experience of having a new puppy! This was a nice funny and cute poem to read on the evening of a tough day, this was so nice. Thanks for this poem.

aww adorable!

Thanks for entering!
Because I am not fond of strict rhyme where every line has a rhyme with another line, I love this. I also like that it is really written from the mind of a dog. I truly appreciate that it is written as an overview of the dogs habits and how he thinks of them. Sounds like a pup.
Nicely written ~ Joyce

Perfect indeed
So true and untill our pets get full grown we never see our bad habits that often we teach them to do ourselves then they are punished . This is so true indeed . -

...
but other than that...everything was adorable

This is very funny! The rhyming was fun and it does seem very doggish. Good luck!
Which option did you choose? Best prewrite? -
So true, so true; but, aren't they adorable! This is a great poem about all those previous little pups.

aawww!! i never raised a puppy, we got my dogs from the pound and they were already potty trained. but i kno it must def be a challenge!
-
Darling!
I love it from the pup's point of view. "One out three ain't bad" and "We pups put up with a lot from the likes of folk like you"-yeah, my dog's taken many an involuntary trip to the vet for eating rocks, badminton birdie heads, etc. Rascals! -
That is so cute...i loved it. Good luck in the contest.
