Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Although you're feeling blue.
A gloomy outlook can get in your way,
Of seeing the good side in every bad day.
Through stresses of life in all that you do,
You always work hard, find a way to pull through
So Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Daddy, I'm proud of you.
I've been praying for this dream to come true.
Deciding you couldn't take it anymore,
Just giving up and walking out the door.
There was stresses of life in all you would do,
And you realized it was too much to go through
So Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Daddy, I'm proud of you.
And I'll always love you too.
Don't worry about what we will do now,
God will help us through somehow.
There's stresses of life in all that you do,
But leaning on him will help you pull through
So Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Though your life has been thrown askew.
I don't know if I should feel happy or sad,
But I know one thing: I'm glad you're my dad.
Through stresses of life in all that you do,
You always work hard, find a way to pull through
So Daddy, I'm proud of you.
Author notes
Dedicated to my dad. I am feeling confused, proud, happy, upset, and mixed-up because he quit his job.

AWWWW!
This made me happy and sad at the same time!I was happy because you were proud of your daddy no matter what! And I was sad just because! This was a wonderful wonderful poem! -
It's not a perfect world ...
and it sounds as if your father knows it. Sometimes life forces us into situations where we have no choice, and perhaps he was at that point with the "job".
In any case, you've not done too badly with this.
Thanks for entering. -
I am so glad that you feel such strong feelings and cares for you Dad and that you are proud of him, it isn't always easy to survive sometimes and he tries his best by the sound of things. It's nice to hear that kind of thing from a son or daughter instead of the parent.

Beautiful write. I understand your mixed feelings abut your Dad and his situation. At the same time I like the way you show your love and devotion for him as well. Well done.
