Warrior Spirit & Soul

To be a warrior is not a simple matter

of wishing to be one.

It is rather an endless struggle

that will go on

to the very last moment of our lives.

No one is born a warrior,

in this same way,

no one is born an average man.

We make ourselves into one or the other.

Every society , culture & people

are judged by how it treats

it's least fortunate amongst them.

A warriors strength is gained

by honor, respect & humbleness.

Walking beside each other,

never ahead or behind on the path.

Author notes

These words were taught to me throughout my lifetime. It is a lesson for all walks of life, not just native americans but the whole world. Many work for harmony and peace but many warriors are still needed.
(The name T'Challa is a spirit name given to me many years ago.)

    A great choice to share

for the group. The understanding of what a true warrior is a true understanding of how to follow the spiritual path. I recognize that his aspect goes deeper than surface values.

Spirituality is universal throughout our world of different peoples and cultures. Our perceptions may be different but the spirits inhabit us all. Thank you for your poetic thoughts.May we all learn to go 'walking beside each other'.

    Perfectly Purposed

and works well with the prompt. We have warriors all around, just not as we would think of perceiving them, yet we need so many more.

I thought of Two Wolves as I read this. Greet my brother and tell him so.

    Niaish for sharing.

    Bravo!

This is so true. This lessons is the same way for warriors as for other people. Treat others the way we would like to be treated. Fine work.

A very strong poem, in content and your own belief in the words but could be misunderstood in these materialistic times. As now most judge you by your monetary gains and possessions. A poorly clothed person may be rich in good loyal friends, loving family and a sunny disposition. While the well dressed in the large house may be wanted for what they have got, with no one at all who likes them as a person. The true warrior sees the reality beyond the facade. Very well done my sister.

This poem of shared wisdom speaks to the heart. Your insights may be unpopular in this day and age of medioracy but none the less true. A warrior must stand for the beliefs of his heart and be faithful in looking out for the weak and less forunate. Very well stated in your poem. Niaish for sharing such time honored truth.
