So many doors along life's way
always choices to make,
but do we really end up knowing
if each option was correct.
How do we know how life would be
if we had unlocked that other door,
it makes me think that sometimes
we can choose too flippantly.
It's always very easy
to open the door of least resistance,
but is that really best for me
in many ways I'll never know.
And always deep within us
is that tiny nest of greed
for when we view the brightest way
something within all of us is often drawn.
These are trapdoors of our selfishness
always the most colorful and mesmerising
promising the key to our every wish
fooling us into false perceptions.
For most of us the door we seek
is that one of love and acceptance
where truly we are all held equally
within each others hands.
always choices to make,
but do we really end up knowing
if each option was correct.
How do we know how life would be
if we had unlocked that other door,
it makes me think that sometimes
we can choose too flippantly.
It's always very easy
to open the door of least resistance,
but is that really best for me

And always deep within us

For most of us the door we seek

where truly we are all held equally
within each others hands.
Author notes
Prompt
We are revolving doors
There are doors that open by themselves
There are sliding doors
And there are secret doors
There are doors that lock
And doors that don't
There are doors that let you in
And out
But never open
But they are trapdoors
That you can't come back from.

fooling us into false perceptions.
For most of us the door we seek
is that one of love and acceptance
where truly we are all held equally
