The Rising Sun

The flame of fiery opals burns
through amber rays that light your candle
rising to greet the wish blown
from my lips to yours
our love floating
upon zephyr
winds

Hearts
brimming
incandescence
living memory tenders
the distance that separates;
two friends brought together by the
rise of the morning sun

  • bravo!

    aww what a lovely poem!!
    and beautifully structured!
    so sweet!

  • -upon zephyr
    winds
i think zephyr and then wind seems redundant since both mean the same. or so i believe they do?

    i'm sure zoe loved this

    • Zephyr is the god of the west wind. A zephyr is a calm westerly breeze. When specifically using zephyr winds I am citing the direction with zephyr and using the winds to pluralize. Though it could be deemed as redundant I suppose. Thanks for the comment.

You did a fine job of tying your birthday wish with a friend so far away. Metaphors here are beautiful ""love floating upon zephyr winds" (whatever zephyr means..LOL) Syllable count, perfect and even the right shape. Genius that you are! Want to write me a belated BD poem> March 30th!!! Just kidding. Hope Zoe likes this. Kind and loving thoughts from the acorn that fell from the oak tree, and grew into another oak!

    • Zephyr wind is the Greek god of the west wind. This is also another way of saying a gentle breeze or something airy, fleeting, or passing. The meaning was intended, but personally I just love the way it sounds. *Grins* Thanks for reading!! I Love you Mom.
  • This is really sweet of you. I'm a poetso I won't say "OMG AMAZING!" lol
The first t linesstarted out beautifully and the last two lines tied it all together - really good poem
