Poet finds his place

Creative talents need not presuppose
life’s web is spun within a hermit’s cell.
Approaches vary.  Magic works its spell.
Unleashing energy as spirit grows,
evolves, chance seeds of challenge-change Man sows.
Slough off Time’s mask, shed superficial shell,
creative insight rises, rings rhyme's bell
loud and clear here, guides the pattern flows
to meetings most felicitous poet knows
may separate the false from true, tunes well
with harmony innate, not aimed to sell
but share where understanding fresh air blows.
Chance offers insight into Time and Space,
Change adds momentum, Poet finds his place.

  • I found the bold italicised print to be hard to read .. a bit eye-straining ..

I didn't understand line 5 .. "chance seeds of challenge-change Man sows." .. I don't know if it's just the punctuation, or the wording .. I see "challenge-change" as one word, since that's usually what a hyphen suggests .. So what the line says to me (in my own words) is "take a chance with seeds of challengechange and man sows seeds"

in line 8/9 : Was this intended to say "guides the pattern flows to meetings most felicitous. Poet knows." or "guides the pattern flows to meetings. Most felicitous poet knows!"? Again, maybe I'm just confused my the punctuation ..

I really enjoyed lines 6/7 and 13/14 .. I think they're the highlights of this piece .. the flow is perfect in them!

The individual is often responsible for causality although Chance, Fate, Destiny or Luck are frequently held up as examples of 'guiding finger tipping the scales of time and tide' change is challenge, and challenge involves/evolves into and through change ... thus
one sows the seeds that lead to choice "to take up arms against a sea of troubles, and, by opposing, end them" as our mutual acquaintance W.S. would have us believe
      • I see now, the whole thing makes more sense to me now .. thank you very much for taking the time to explain your vision for this poem to me .. and thank you for your open-mindedness in your response, as well .. most poets on this site jump the gun and get offended, where no offense is intended!

    "Creative talents need not presuppose

This is true. I have penned poems whilst hovering within my cavernous dwelling, as well as whilst stopped at a traffic light. Also whilst at work on my lunch break. Or during laundry. Or in the middle of a conversation. I can see your light shining from here, my Friend. G'night, Scribe. Wanda
