it's as though my world is crumbling a part
everything is going wrong
sometimes i think my life could be a soap opera
or better yet a country song

no, i didn't lose my dog or my friend
no, something worse happened to me
i lost my one true love
i lost the girl of my dreams

sadly, she didn't run off with my cousin
or even a fellow employee
rather, she left me for the mistakes i made
gosh, how stupid could i be

it only lasted for a couple months
that other girl and i
but never for a single moment
was she ever worth the tears you cried

i wish to tell you that i'm sorry
i truly never meant to break your heart
i have loved you from the day we met
my heart belonged to you from the start

yeah, sometimes i think my life could be a soap opera
or even a country song
but as long as you're at my side
