Dark and Light

Ever lie alone at night fully awake when everyone else isn't?
All because of a few poisonous words spoke from the lips of a
Witch left to eat away at you inside, slowly but surely.

You think to yourself Why? Why is this happening to me.
I thought your spell was broken long ago.  Why must you haunt  Me when I am not under your spell no more?

You fight with yourself, trying to stop the poison of her words From ultimately affecting you and others.  Hours go by before  You finally submit to defeat and fall asleep, tormenting dreams

New day starts, you wake up from your nightmares believing all
Will be well, when really you know you can't go on, you want to
Lie down and cry, cry for many hours, days, weeks to go by.

But you can't give up.  You must live and fight on, just think
What would happen if you died?  You must survive so you can be
With her, your reason to love and live.  She loves you always.

Now you lie down again, another sleepless night?
You think to yourself I love her and don't want to lose her    Once more you fall asleep, seeing the dark and the light.

You reach out for the light, hoping it will ease your pain,
The dark reaches for you, seeing as you have dark inside you.
What do you do?  Give in to the light, your love and life.
