I'd like to wish you a happy birthday
But I'm afraid it just won't work
Because to wish you joy and hapiness
Goes against the deep workings of my mind
I'd like to sing you a little song
But its words would make babies cry
And the dogs would howl and bark
At the ravings of my song
I'd like to give you a present
But that would make you smile and laugh
And your hapiness would burn my heart
And your smile would tear me apart
So, brother dear, happy birthday
Take my song and my gift
Listen to my ravings, my song for you,
As you thrust the knife into your heart
Happy birthday
Author notes
Have a great day! Not the sort of thing I usually write by any stretch of the imagination.

Well thank you for trying if it is not your usually type of writing. I liked your ideas and the flow, I only wish it would rhyme. For some reason my mom rejects songs unless they rhyme. A good piece of writing regardless, though, thank you for entering.
