Standing at world’s end,
Staring death in the face.
Life is so bleak, his heart so weak.
Legs in preparation, heart in desperation.
Mind relates scenes of past hopes.
Full of love, full of joy.
I cry out, shattering deaden silence.
His eyes turn, body quivering.
So lost, so in need.
Mouth moving, no words forming.
I stare into his pleading eyes.
Eyes that need love and hope.
He cries out, words scattering in the wind.
Planting both feet at the edge.
Staring back into the tempters eyes.
Body leaps, colors cascade.
Painting a picture of lost hope.
Surreal, body soaring, heart stopping.
His body hanging in mid-air.
Hand reaching out, wanting comfort.
I jump out, arms out reached.
Grabbing onto to him, as end draws near.
I whisper in his ear, “She still loves you.”
Hurling into the murky depths.

Superb write, overflowing with emotion! I loved this piece! Yes, love is a very good reason to stay, but the heart wrenching truth is that love is also the reason why so many choose to go! This poem radiates power and intricate thought, I loved it! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work!
