To America born.

Missing image

Her years are told

by the colour of her hair

accustomed to work

her hands can bare.

But this native woman

her land she knows

with natures medicine

and plants she sows.

Wise in wisdom

to America born

tell me this

who are we to scorn?

Her right of freedom

we took away

when greed and wealth

came to stay.

  • An honest delivery of the facts...

They say the truth shall set us free - where was that ring of truth on May 14, 1607, I wonder? You've told it like it is, and I applaud you for baring the age-old story of our selfish humanity's motives and actions upon the Europeans' brazenly arriving in the New World. Congratulations on winning the bronze cup! Peace & love, Cyn

  • Well written verse, a commentary on this native woman's strength and perseverance in the face of greed.
    Congrats on winning the bronze.

    This is great.

It is a shame that we destroyed those cultures. They were great guardians of the land.
