fell asleep
waiting for tomorrow
and awoke to
the church bells calling
from the church
down the road
wanted to go
but felt it better
to read the paper
answer some mail
or
do a little fly-fishing and watch the line dance
really don't do well
with organized prayer
feel better
saying it on my own
that night
the church glowed
under a full moon
stars freckled
the coal black sky
as i gazed upward
simply said
good night and thanks
descending silently
into sleep

Very interesting take on the image, but oh so true. I love the comparison that is drawn out here, where else is god more but in nature itself. awsome write . good luck in the contest.
