I look back
On the love we had
But can you call it love
The shadow surrounding you
Was so much that you couldnt even love
It was not fair to me
To live there in that lie
But all my fears, you did quell
All in the blink of your eye
All in the blink of your eye
Chorus:
I hate you now
And all the time
We've spent apart
Has given me time to mend my heart
Without you, and I love you
And emotions flow now like a river
As I remember your last words
How cold they were, and how wicked
They truly burned
But not as much as knowing you
And having my heart torn, between what I know
Is right and what my heart desires
((Oh Great liar oooooo great liar))
Chorus (1X)
Bridge:
But my eyes are open now
To the truth
You'll never hurt me again
And God have mercy on you
For I never will, oooo I never will
Chorus:
I hate you now
And all the time
We've spent apart
Has given me time to mend my heart
Without you, and I didn't love you.
No I didn't love you
Oh Great Liar, I didn't love you
Author notes
I wrote this while reflecting on a recent break up that involves SO Much. I hope I emulated my Idol Stevie Nicks in Style and hope you all like.
Please tell me what you think

It sounds like a song, and I don't usually critique lyrics. As a poem, I don't like the first stanza, the word love is overused, maybe figure out another word to take its place. The flow could have been a little better, maybe work on word choice. Also, you contradict yourself in the third and last stanzas. If it was a song I would have to hear it to better understand your vision, and how it would be sung, etc. I think it could use work but the message comes across well.
