A nip of your teeth, asserting your dominance

Side by side, body craving the love that fills your eyes
As you howl to the moon, glowing above the thorn in my side,
From wanting your eyes, overflowed with affection to linger on my face as I sleep through the night, your chest my pillow, your arms my blanket,
claws bared, and I am bleeding,
these visions strung out in my head like crime scene photographs,
but I am losing this race with your anger,
Being pursued at an alarming rate, but only because I am sustenance,
when in reality if it were not I who chased you, there would be no pursuit at all.
And even so each second you come closer to leveling me, tearing my flesh
and feasting on the wounds you've inflicted
But somehow I get off with a warning,
pinned to the ground, asserting your dominance with glare that darkens my view,
But I am scolded for deviating from your authority by a mere nip of the teeth,
followed by a clean lick to the face to show that you were mostly joking.
And with that I awake from a dream so filled with broken fantasy,
yet fed on the terror that builds nightmares.
Eyes opening to a look of distraction, your eyes clouded in the glow of the moon,
and to see your face cuts me like a knife, But you lick away the blood,
head cocked, itching for a treat that I can’t give you.

Well, I do appreciate the entry. However, I would loved to have seen this with shorter lines, without some of the filler words, and maybe broken into a couple stanzas. Thanks for your time.

An excellent composition with an abundance of imagery within the written verse--Well Done--Best of luck in the contest!
