I am not ashamed to speak the “J” word.
I do not cringe when people see I tote
an “I love Jesus” object.
I absolutely do not bend to the world’s will.
I cannot conform and be “typical.”
I will not compromise my faith and values.
I am not ashamed for you, Jesus,
for you are my strength.
I do not cringe to love you, Lord,
for my love is not a lie.
I absolutely do not bend my back for them,
only for you, Father, to learn and grow.
I cannot conform to them, El Shaddai,
because I am peculiar, not one of them.
I will not compromise all you have
taught me, instilled in me, El Elyon,
You are real to me—Truth.
I promise I will never abandon
El Olam.
I swear I will never cease to serve
My Master.
I vow to never back off for my life;
it is already His.
I am sealed to never cut my ties with
the King of kings.
I am carved in stone, never to cast off
my veil of Life, Salvation, and Holiness
Jesus has given me.

I used to feel a little funny when people would catch me reading my Bible, but now I think nothing of it. It's actually opened up some really interesting conversations that I'm glad that I've had. I've learned to not conform as well - not that I ever did much anyway. I didn't fit it before and I won't fit in now! LOL. I think I have more peace in my heart than many other's you'll meet, though, and people pick up on that. That is God.

it's weird cuz k-12 I never had a problem with peers because of my faith; college is quite different, though. Then again, I have been surprised at how many fellow Christians have been in many of my classes. Glad you liked this one. :-)

I'm an atheist, so I can't say I personally know how you feel about Jesus, but this poem really shows your love for and dedication to him.
