late morning
and you climbed in through my window
the only one who understands, who has seen this
sadness
by my side.
you embraced me
kissed every inch,
warmed me from the outside in
but left me starving
in the night
like no one ever had or has.
the only lover who comes back
after a night at God-knows-where
without booze on breath
or lies on lips
you are,
my love...

by my side.
you embraced me
kissed every inch,
warmed me from the outside in

I loved this part because it has
lots of fig. language and
it makes me want summer and the sun
to come out much sooner.
You did a great job with the personification.
Good luck!
