The Kumu has lived a life of dedication:

dedicated to the continuity

finding we all have talents that compliment one another;
celebrating our successes and progress;
maximizing our potential so that all may prosper;
joining a world community that hopes and believes in humanity;
Kumu is Hawaiian for teacher,
society's most valuable treasure,
never to be lost, tossed away, or buried,
but cared for and given all the honor
a culture can convey,
for the Kumu is humanity's life-blood.
