Why?

What happened to your Promise?
You said you would Come,
You said you would Write,
You promised me the World!

One call, One letter, One Year.
Three hundred and sixty-five Days,
I really trusted You,
Thought you would Care.

You promised to take me Away!
Show me a world of Dreams,
A life made in semi-reality,
Where are you Now?

I have waited a whole Year!
You told me, you Promised,
We shared Everything,
Life, love, Hope,
YOU PROMISED!

Why?

Okay! I had to repost this poem because the first version is messed up...so if you want to repost your comments..please do so!..even though nothing has really changed in it.
~~

I wrote this poem for two reasons, one was that the love of my life promised me all the things in the poem and then never folllowed htrough on the delivery of them...which nearly killed me; I felt completely betrayed and crushed.

The second reason is this was written for my brother, He was my leader/captain/and best friend. When he joined the army I thought it would be so cool to have him in there, for he was my hero and could do no wrong. But I was very wrong, he was in Iraq for less than a year when the calls stoped, he use to call me every day...just to chat. After that he stoppped sending my postcards and little letters...and now I barely ever see him, he has become this person that I barely know.

So for those two people ask simple, Why?

ahhh this is so sad, I can feel the hurt that you must have. Nothing worse then broken promises. Try to learn from it and move on, there is so many loney people that would love to share your thoughts and dreams. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Friends and family that make promises to you and never keep them hurts a lot, because they aren't just breaking promises they are breaking part of the bond between you. This is such a sad case that we see way too often. I guess people get caught up in their lives and forget that they kept promises to others.
