A Warrior's Tale

My eyes were as sharp as a blade of steel.
My ears could follow the wind.
My hands caused wounds that none could heal,
But my heart couldn't comprehend.

I lost what I was fighting for,
Why I sought to stay alive.
The battles themselves have lost their roar,
what the inner warrior did thrive.

But now my eyes turn towards the sky,
My ears follow something new.
With ink, I can catch one's eye,
From sword to rhyme in follow-through.
