Trapped in the chains of night
The dark and cold have wrapped me tight
My mind surrenders without a fight
To everything that is not right
As my footsteps echo in haste
I try to believe I'm still embraced
By your warmth and bittersweet taste
Closing my eyes another day I waste
The black atmosphere gets darker
And those chains are getting tighter
And all this guilt is growing larger
I just can't take it in any longer
Trapped in the chains of the night
The dark and cold wrapped around me too tight
My body gives in to what can't be right
I know it's useless now to be contrite…
