Night

The only silence is your voice.
A neighbor's dogs bark.
Frogs croak the length of the creek.
The Whippoorwill has yet to arrive.

The silence of your voice;
the poets of the dark;
me writing words that reek
with your memory, alive

& warm against this chill.

Please tell me what you think

    Breathing in the dark
    You hear voices
    in suffering
    all a part of something

    To be held in words
    is a dark poets dream
    reek and alive
    in memory

    in all parts warm

    in a lonely poet
    Hungry

      Thanks Laura... The more levels a poem has, the more effective it has been said...

    Love how this poem warms us in the last line...the first 8 set it up well....beautiful ending; a person's memory can do this sometimes, can't it?..
