with audible tremor of tongue
or lisps of low or liquid articulations
in wide open vocalic passion staged
as wild fire or water rampant
in its rip-roar rage
No.
You hold me without arms so close
a radiant receptive hush a warmth of blush
on skin a sacred presence soft draws nigh
silken repose in quietude of Aye
You strengthen limbs that turned weak lame
you are sweet breath true blood in vein
you are my flute my keystone pillar span
in blazing heat in stormy rain
And when I ask for Faith's protection
or for Hope in worlds unsane
your Truth and Light and Love are shields
against the blows in victories already sealed
You send me music musings man
in sorrow and in sad half-seen
I hear the whispers of your wings
beloved Angel then in me you sing
my Hymn to Him
Author notes
My Angel is powerful and soft. Its presence keeps me sane in turmoil. I do not see all the blows aimed at me. I simply know that the message is clear: You are protected and loved.
I have many tales to tell about my Angel. Too many to fit into this space. I can but say the most simple need is known, the most insignificant human sigh heard. Our Angels do not sleep. They are messengers of God; they warn, protect and shield. And they simply make our paths bearable and treadable.
Angels come to us in many forms. Beware. You may have an Angel in your guest room! HUGS

Amazing! This reads like a raging fire in the first stanza then you play your magic and slow the reader down with beauty and spirituality. What a wonderful poetic technique. Well deserved gold!
Love,

Your poem led me to think about the faith of angels, which St. Thomas Aquinas reasoned was before and above any religion. Can we call it faith when it is something we know for certain? Interesting ideas.

Congratulations for your gold trophy.

This is an incredible write. You never know when you entertain angles unawares and you certainly delight the rest of us with your poetry. Well done.

There is a clear contrast between the first stanza and the rest, between harsh and supportive. This is a great faith, and evidence of great love.

I am in love with your words and am bookmarking this poem. Your form, using a perfect rhyme scheme was really good. Nice metaphors and similies. Assonance was spot on! LOve your sense of humor too. It is the essence of life! Thank you so much for entering my contest and best wishes!

sigh ...
you know too well how to enchant the reader with your flute of magic ... and to make His song flow through your instrument, emptied from ego, filled with the fullness of emptiness ...
that's why your song transforms us, without our knowing, willing, believing ... no need, He does all the job ... through You ...
much love,

marion
