A little girl who thought she was a bug
was dreaming to become a famous bard
A witch appeared, gave her amnesic drug
and said : “You won’t succeed, your task is hard.”
The girl drowned in deception’s putrid well
until a fairy saved her from the dark
removing consequences from the spell
that, for a while, had veiled creative spark
“Now, if you are a bug, why don’t you sing ?
Your song will be unique, you’ll be surprised
To many, tears of joy your voice will bring !”
The girl obeyed, and soon, she realized :
When song of soul she whispers in our ear
ten-thousand-fold, its echo we will hear

hahaha to Mairi's name for ten thousand cicadas... a very spritely tribute fairytale you have composed here for your friend. The cicada's voice provides a welcome summer concert.
